If managed poorly, the process of remodeling your home, or even working through the construction of a new home can be very stressful. At R.L. Connelly & Co., our years of experience have taught us how to manage the process and make the experience predictable and painless - even enjoyable.
"Delivering a quality product is a given," says Bob Connelly. "Over and above that, we have to give absolutely incomparable service."
With that goal in mind, R.L. Connelly & Co. has created a process that keeps our clients informed and in control, without being burdened by needless detail. To help you understand what to expect as your project progresses, here is an outline of the process:

The Client (you) makes the decision to remodel their home or build a new one.
The Client selects an Architect. If you don't already have an architect, that's OK - please talk to us. Sometimes an Architect is not needed. If one is, we can recommend someone who will fit your needs.
If there is an Architect involved in the project, they will conduct the initial meetings with the Client, producing designs and drawings. A good Architect will be able to talk with you about not only the project scope, but also the overall budget (sometimes getting ballpark budgets from us). Note: Projects that end up out of control (way over budget) are usually caused by a combination of the Architect not having a good handle on practical construction costs and contractors who don't look forward and foresee trouble issues ahead. If there is not an architect involved in the project, R.L. Connelly & Co.will produce designs and drawings and conduct these initial meetings.
The Client approves the final design.
R.L. Connelly & Co. does detailed project estimating, and works with the Architect to finalize all the details of the project and determine an accurate project cost.
The Client meets with R.L. Connelly & Co. and the Architect to discuss the final scope of the project, and present the Final Agreement (we don't go forward until the Client understands and approves the final project budget). We will not deliver unexpected invoices!
The Client approves the final plans and signs the construction agreement. At this time, R.L. Connelly & Co. presents the preferred vendor list to the Client for making color/fixture decisions (picking out ovens, faucets, countertops, etc.).
R.L. Connelly & Co. applies for building permits, lines up tradecontractors, and orders materials - building a detailed production schedule in the process.
R.L. Connelly & Co., the Architect and Client have pre-construction meeting to discuss all final details surrounding the project.
Construction begins along agreed upon timeline. R.L. Connelly & Co. supervises daily, managing the people, the materials, the communication, and the flow of work. During the construction process, R.L. Connelly & Co. works with architect on additional client requests (change orders).
Construction is completed on schedule and on budget. Upon completion, R.L. Connelly & Co. and the client meet (Project Orientation meeting) to discuss final details. The Client receives their "project book" with all color choices, appliance manuals, emergency numbers and general information concerning their home.
Concierge Service begins. The Client receives 30-day, 6-month, and 1-year calls from R.L. Connelly & Co., and is available for any and all services necessary.
This basic process ensures that all three parties (Client, Architect, and R.L. Connelly & Co.) are well informed, can work well together as a team, and all benefit from the relationship formed for this mutual project.
